Garden creations lockdown competition for Porirua children

Children’s Spring Flower Competition

With the Titahi Bay Horticultural Society Annual Spring Flower Show this weekend cancelled due to Covid Level restrictions, we are holding an at-home competition for children from the Porirua region instead of our usual children's exhibition competitions.

We would love to see entries from your children!

Garden creations competition

• Create a ‘sand saucer’ or similar using flowers, leaves and other garden finds displayed in a saucer, small recyclable container, box or shell – whatever you have to use easily at home.

• The container can be filled with sand, playdough, earth or oasis – whatever you have at home.

Submitting entries

• Email a photo of the finished design by 5pm Monday 6 September to: titahibayhorticulturalsociety@gmail.com

• Please include child’s name, age and address

• A title and some information about the creation.

• Age group entry categories are:

  • Preschool - Under 5

  • Primary - 3-8 years

  • Primary - 9-12 years

Awards

• 1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards in each age group will receive $5.00 each

• Winning entries will be displayed on the Titahi Bay Horticultural Facebook and website.
